What do you do?
“We help companies bring life to their mobile marketing aims, whether they are selling something, promoting a project or keeping in touch with an existing customer database. The name Converged was chosen deliberately as, ultimately, we’d like to deliver across a variety of platforms but at the moment we are very mobile-centric. The reason for that is simple: two of us who set up the company spent a lot of time working for Orange. We left there last year to set up Converged and that’s when we got in touch with Inspiral.”
What help has Inspiral given you?
“Inspiral gave us access to a little pot of money and some contacts, which got us up a peg or two quickly. We were able to talk to banks and other institutions with a bit more credence because we could bring a financial advisor along with us who’d been paid for by Inspiral. It transformed us from being two blokes out of Orange to two blokes out of Orange with a support team of quality consultants.”
How has Inspiral’s help impacted on your business?
“We are less than one year into our business start-up. Much of that time has been spent building technical capability and creating a foundation for 2008. We are in a strong financial position and it would be fair to say that Inspiral has helped us to establish ourselves as a business quicker than we would have managed on our own.”
What advice would you give to someone looking to start their own business?
“Go for it, and working with Inspiral is a good way forward. At seed, or even groundwork for the seed of an idea level, they’re great.”
